Fire Extinguishers are installed and maintained to I.S. 291 2002.
The following is carried out during each fire extinguishers maintenance visit
- Ensure that the extinguishers are visible and accessible
- Ensure the wall-bracket/fixing are secure
- Extinguishers are examined for signs of corrosion or damage
- Co2 extinguishers are weighed
- Test discharge is included in each visit
- The test discharge requirement varies between 20% and 33% depending on extinguisher type
- Generally 25% of extinguishers are discharged annually
- Each extinguisher discharged and refilled will be documented on the label
